This series was created while living with the realities of a relationship that spanned an ocean. Thoughts of longing and of the sea played a large part in the work.
Such long-distance relationships are complicated and can be difficult, although at the same time they can seem undeniably romantic. I created these paintings as a way to explore my thoughts and reactions to this reality.
